Hey guys, just needed to use some of your vast knowledge. I have a Massey 180 Diesel, and three of the injectors are leaking. All the line connections seem to be tight, and the injectors seem to be leaking from around the dust cover where the injectors seat into the head. I"ve had the tractor for about a year and they just started leaking this winter. They don"t seem to leak while the tracotr is running just when the engine is off. Any suggestions on what the problem is and how it may be fixed? Thanks a bunch.

If you take the return line off it might be worth replacing the copper crush washers. Or even to check that they are there. Those are easy to loose or to install improperly with that rigid pipe going from injector to injector.

That's a good one, my guess would be something to do with the fuel return line since it started on three at once and only after shut down.

I would check to ensure that the fuel return line is open back to the tank.

How much fuel is leaking out?

JP.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check the return line. It appears to be just enough fuel leaking to keep the area around the injectors and down the block wet. It's not that big of a deal except it makes a mess on the engine and when the tractor has been running and is hot and when I turn the engine off the fuel on the head and block tends to smoke.

Thanks again.

I thought this would be a good question, and I'm suprised that I haven't gotten any more feedback. Come on guys give me something here.
