Could anyone help me with my painting and coloring problems on my Massey Ferguson 35? According to the serial number (SDM 76059) it is a -57 with Standard Diesel engine. A)In its early past it is repaint and I'm not sure that the color tones (red and gray) are right at all.
B) On the backside of the radiator grill I found some silver gray metallic paint left! Is this correct.

Hans, I had a similar problem with a MF 65 Mk1. I believed the colour scheme should be MF super red and Stoneleigh grey, but on stripping it down, under all the dirt I found a light metallic silver grey colour on the air filter.
On checking with Friends of Ferguson Heritage, (very worth while joining), I was told that early 35 & 65 models built at Coventry were indeed finished in red and metallic light grey. Correct part number is 3620509M5, and it should be available from your local MF dealer. Any problems e-mail me.
Hope this helps, Pete.

Hans, I think you may have a 1957 Ferguson FE 35, built in Coventry, UK. If my memory serves me correctly, its original colors were gray sheet metal and metallic bronze-colored castings. Many of them were later repainted red/flint gray to match the newer MF 35 edition.
