I completely rebuilt the engine in my 150 Gas, Z145. Sleeve kit, bearings, valve springs, valves, valve seats. I have around 24 hrs on the rebuild and using no oil. I haven't done any heavy work with it. Just a few post holes and grading drive with box blade. A lot of the hours are just driving the tractor at low and high RPM's.

Question: When should I change the oil and filter?

Tom,
When my Dad used to rebuild an engine, He'd put it outside with a piece of cardboard covering most of the radiator to make it run hot, then run it at high RPM for 3-4 hours. Change the oil, then baby it for another 40 hours and change the oil again. He worked for an International dealer for many years.

My rebuild shop told me to change oil after 40 hours. Like MF Poor said, lots of responses = lots of different replies.

I would change it now, and then again in another 100 hours. Then you should be good to go into your regular oil change cycle after that.
