The original subject was "1085 Hydralics 3ph will not go down".

Did you ever figure out your lift problem. i just purchased a 1085 and i am having the same problem. i have the worked the levers in all positions. when you turn it off, they lower. when you crank it, they raise regardless of the position of the control levers. i have ordered manuals from ebay in hopes to figure this out. i am new to tractors. any help would be deeply appreciated.

MED41: The levers linkage may not be correct outside the housing or inside they may not be where they belong. You should be able to check this out if the service manual you get is a good one. If someone had the lift cover off and did not know what they were doing it most likley wrong. You will see what I mean when you read the service manual. Good luck Don Snyder

Sounds to me like the control valve in the pump is stuck in the lift position. The oil will leak off when sitting with engine not running and lift arms will go down as soon as started they will go up. With your control levers down use your tractor until oil is good and warm, when engine is running the system is osolating the control valve and if your lucky it may come loose, this may take awhile, may need to try it a few time but leave levers down. If valve comes loose the lift arms will go down while running it.This has worked at our shop, but not every time. The lift cover will have to come off if it don't come loose. Get a SERVIVE MANUAL before you attempt that as you need to know what has to be done to get if of and back on correctly. Good Luck Don Snyder

i let it run for an hour this morning. it did'nt release. i did notice a tiny leak in the hydraulic house. the hose i am talking about is the top house on the left side of the tractor. it goes around the back top side with the rest of the hoses. it is leaking at the metal fitting on the right side of the tractor. it is not a very noticable leak. hopefully my manual will be here soon.

thanks for the reply Don. i have ordered a service manual from ebay. i have also been reading all of the archived posts on the site. one thing puzzles me. i read that the levers have to be in certian positions. i have noticed that with the inside lever all the forward, the arms fall about one inch. if you move the outside lever forward, they raise back up. if you move the outside lever to the middle position, they drop back down. i read on this site that just the opposite should happen. the company i bought the tractor from said that two of them stood on the lift arms and they went down. they also said that they tried to get the pto to stop spinning by hooking up a bush hog and turning the pto off. this did not work. he told me to find a heavier gear driven implement and try that. what do you think.

Some of the 3 points only work when the remote leavers are in a certain position. On the smaller tractors (175) I have seen the roller fall out of the linkage on the pump.

On a side note, the truck driver who delivered the tractor said that he saw the tph work when he picked it up. i did go back outside and try moving the levers as suggested in other post but the lift still would not go down. i am not able to removed the cover and do any other work, no lights in barn.

i just spoke with the company where i purchased the tractor. he told that the inside response lever had to be pushed forward the lower the lift and the draft response could be in the middle. i tried this. i stood on the lift with the arms in this position and they still will not lower. i weigh 250. he told me that i may want to look at the hydrolics on the inside to see what could be wrong. any suggestions.
