Since I replaced the fluid, cleaned the filter, and replaced the bottom seal around the pto, the system won't lift my grader blade but will lift the rotary mower no problem. What is the most likely problem?

Did it lift the rear blade before you changed the oil and cleaned the filter? What oil did you use and what is the viscosity of it [80-90 is what it should be,it should meet the specs. of Massey Ferguson's perman tran oil. Hope this helps you Don Snyder

Hi,

The oil had drained during the two years I was overseas and that's why I had to replace the seal around the pto. The oil is correct as per the local tractor supply. Yes it did lift the blade before. I wonder if there is some adjustment to the draft control that would help. Last year I was helping a neighbor move some large wet posts for a retaining wall and tried to lift the leading edge and it wouldn't work until we moved the chain off the top point of the three point. thanks.

It would help to know what the model of tractor is. I flunked mind reading;ask my wife!

I"ll presume you have a TO-20 or T0-30. There"s no good reason why you can lift a mower but can"t lift a blade. Are you sure the pump/pto lever on the left side under the seat is in the proper position so that the pump/pto are connected?

Hi there, Sorry, It's a 1968 Massey Fergusen 135 petrol. I suppose it starts to pick it up but then it slowly drops. Thanks for your reply.
