I am buying a 1150 that the multipower does not work on it. My question is do I need to fix this or can I just let it go.I need to split the tractor to put a cluch in but can't afford to put in multipower based on what I have been told part costs are.

You can't afford not to fix the multi-power. Try tractor implement service. They part out Massey's of all sizes and may have a used unit in stock. 1-800-545-9967. Even if you can't find used parts, wait until you have the cash before splitting the tractor. If you don't fix the multi-power, you won't be able to use half of your ground speeds. And that IS bad. Ron there is a bank of test ports under the floor borad to check the pressures. I would check the charge pump pressure first to make sure it is not weak There is a port there to check the Multi-Power pressure. This will help figure out how serious the problem is.

You will probably not like the tractor w/o the m-p working, and will want to kick yourself for not going ahead and tearing it down while you have it split. Diagnose it FIRST. Make sure it is not a linkage problem, and it has hyd press. Clutches and seals are no biggie, but if the Aux pump is not up to par, you will have PTO problems too, so check it out first. Big Dean at this site can probably give you more info if req'd. Keep his address handy as long as you own this tractor.
