Looking for the Hyd. pump screen location. Location of the Hyd. oil fill plug cap. Does the main trans. run on Hyd. fluid too? And the Hyd. drain plug.

Thanks,

John

To help clairify Steve's answers.

The Hyd. Filter screen is located on the hyd. pump in the transmission housing.

The hyd. oil fill plug is located on top of the transmission housing next to the gear shift lever.

The transmission and hyd. oil resevor are one in the same, thus both use the same oil.

There are two drain plugs on the lower left side of the case. Both need to be completelt drained if you need to completely change the oil. i.e. at the end, have both opened at same time.

Hi,
To clarify one stage further;
Yes the filter is located inside the rear centre casing. It can be reached with a little difficulty through the left hand round side cover. More info if you need it. However if you have a late 135 there is a strong possibility that it may have a triangular plate under the centre housing held in place with 3 bolts. Drain the oil and remove the plate. This will give you access to the filter. Later UK models had this plate and I assume North American ones will have it also.

Strange, I'd never noticed the bottom loading filters. In my American MF-135 parts book, edition revised to 1986, printed for me about 1989 by MF in Racine, Wisconsin does show the pumps (several variations on them) with the filters pointing down. It didn't show serial numbers that popped out at me but each had the note, "For use in differential cases with bottom cover plates." But the book shows no differential cases with bottom cover plates (those pages were dated 10/73). So I don't have a serial number range or any proof whether or not there were ever any MF-135 made for American use that had the bottom cover.

If the US 135/150's ever had that triangle plate, I've never seen one. Wish they all did.

You guys got all the good stuff! (cabs for 135's, ect)
