I Have an old Ferguson tractor. The only information on the name plate is the name
Harry Ferguson, Detroit Michigan, Serinal Number 10849
and a list of 8 paten numbers.
If you have any thoughts on how I can find
any information on how to restore this machine or
if a manual still exist anywhere please let me know.

Hi there,

You have a Ferguson TO 20 from 1949. In 1949 they produced from serial number 1808 to 14659

I have a TED 20, also from 1949. The difference is the engine and also you would notice mine has an aluminum transmission while your should have a cast iron transmission.

Electrical parts are different, along with several other things.

As you have seen, up in the right corner of this page you find more info.

In addition to this there are 2 Ferguson clubs in England, both handle overseas memberships.

In general parts, and info is mostly easy to find as both the UK and US version are pretty popular.

There are a lot of books about Ferguson tractors. Some historic books, and also operators and shop manuals.

Good luck, and ask away if you need more info.

Bill

tractors are expensive to repair. I own a 255 Massey Ferguson one of the 65 Massey Fergusons' replacements. Back in the late 70s' I owned a 1963 model 65 MF diesel row crop . Right rear planetary went bad, the multi-power seal started to leak, the pto clutch started to slip. need I say more. The dealer wanted almost as much to fix my tractor as I paid for it. The 65 series planatary has to be built out of roller needle brgs. dealer parts. I did the work myself 1500.00

The best place to start is at the top right coner of this page. The quick menu. Look up the Ferguson tractor at the tractor profile page. Then look up parts and supplies.
