When I bought my 35 it had a small screwdriver in that spot as a dipstick. That left the transmission fluid a bit milky, so I changed it pretty quickly. The dealer had a new dip stick in stock at a good price.

when you get the dipstick replaced.

I drilled a small hole in top of dip stick handle, connected a small chain to dipstick and chained it to tractor.

When you get off tractor your shoe heal can catch the dipstick and pull it out, you never know it.

Good idea and you will solve this problem.

I"ve seen them on ebay for around $5.95. If you can"t find one quickly, you can easily check for the correct oil level. Remove the lowest bolt in the access cover that the dip stick goes into. The oil level is correct when oil just starts to drip out of the lower bolt hole.

Not sure if Ford dipstick is the same. In any event, the CORRECT ones are still available through AGCO/MF. Just bought one for a Ferguson F-40. (Same dipstick)
