Hello out there
It`s a well known fact, that the MFs are apt to rattle in the hyd. when under heavy lift. I just made a log splitter, and found that when in constant pumping the remotes won`t make it rattle, even not when blowing the safety valve. It seems as if the "controlvalve(s)" for the 3p. or so - is the problem. I have an original guide for the adjustments - done with the cover turned upside down. There may be one tool that I dont have, but should I try it out - the 3 p works great with the rattle, but could an adjustment remedy the rattle? I hope that Dean or DavidP will reply. Its for the 135 UK 1974 sold in Denmark

Cheers

Hello DavidP
I think you misunderstood me - I havent had the lid off yet. The guide I have is issued by the Danish importer and is dated 1969 and for 135 thru 178. The missing tool is a forklike gadget MF 270B used for locking the damper rod when loaded with a weight of 3 lbs. - it may be necessary with correct dimensions. There is another tool MF272 - a chamfered block with two dowels for the holes in the lid - probably to measure a distance of 17 mm from arm with the pushrod from the lifting piston and to the edge of lid - that I think may be easy to do otherwise. The other adjustments could be done with standard tools. I think that you know the guide from the UK, but I can`t find any original number or other things so that we could compare. The dowelpins didn`t show any wear.
Cheers

Hello,
Welcome to the Rattle Club!
When the cover was removed did you check the condition of the pump dowel pins? Worn pins and or pump body will cause a rattle. It is essential to have the correct tools to carry out the adjustments with the cover removed and back in place....especially with a Pressure Control tractor. Which tool don't you have?
Outside of the usual cause of the rattle I think your problem may be related to the Final PC adjustment. Did you go through the procedure of using a gauge to adjust the knurled screw on the diaphragm to reduce the oscillations and stabilise the gauge needle?

This is sort of related to the topic at hand, so maybe some of the posters in this thread can help. Our 1965 135 diesel is a solid tractor that seems to perform fine, but when you let off of the clutch in high multi-power, especially in the higher gears, there is a noise from the transmission that sounds like something taking up slack. I have also noticed it when driving across ridged up rows in a field after it has "coasted" a little and is starting to pull back up. It is much less or non-existent in low multi-power. Does anyone have an idea of what this is? Thanks in advance.

Is that something that I need to be concerned about? I don"t know a whole lot about multi-power systems.
