I recently found a crack in the upper left oilpan lug where it bolts up to the trunnion. When I checked the bolt it was hand loose. I checked the other 4 bolts & none were tight! No wonder the lug cracked.

I probably would have never noticed anything, but I do have a front end loader on the tractor, which likely caused the crack.

Not sure how the other MF tractor series structures go together there, but make sure you check those bolts!

Jeff

Some call it a "bolster". Loaders seem to be hard on them. I would check the axle shaft area for cracks too.

You mean where the front bolts up to the axel? On ours it's on the upper right side where it is cracked all the way through. Our's also has a loader on it....

Don...I may putting the wrong name on the casting. The parts book calls it the front support.

There are five bolts that go thru the front flange of the oil pan into the axle support.

Hope thats a little more clear.?

That sounds about right, and like MF says, our axel tube is cracked where it's welded into the axel. We plan to fix it when we can, but we need the tractor every day to feed and move manure, as well as snow removal. Makes it kinda hard to get it fixed....
