MF-150 Got a new Head - what do do with the old one?

The folks at the local machine shop said the head on the MF150 I bought (aka "old smokey") wouldn't pass the magnaflux test -- a couple weak areas near above the cylinder -- so I now have a replacement from some fine folks in PA. I'd sure like to recoup some of the replacement cost, somehow. Anyone buy heads with the thought of repair of these beasties?? MF150 gas Z145.

First of all where are the cracks? What part of WV are you located in?

Where are the cracks? The guy at the machine shop pointed to what appeared to be a little line near the area where the spark plug mounted, as seen from the cylinder side of the head. I just boxed it an put it in the shed. I guess the little line still shows, if its worth a picture....

And located in the eastern panhandle of WV - west of Martinsburg (but east of Jones Spring, WV).

Barn door stop. Ballast. Foundation for a load of scrap steel. Welding cracks in cast is possible, Midwest Cylinder Head in Nevada Iowa does it regularly, but the corner welding shop most often just cracks it more.

I don't know of a market for repairable heads, I don't MWCH stocks repaired heads for sale. But you could ask. Likely their value for a repairable head is just above the cost of freight.
