Hi Folks,

I am looking for a Service Manual for my 1973 MF135 UK Model. I checked with local dealers here in Ontario, Canada and they came up with a Manual with Part No. 1448813M1. This manual does cover MF 135/150 models, but it is not a complete manual. It does state on a covering page "This packet is one component, of two or more components, required to compriise a complete publication."

This manual only covers Front Axle & Steering, Engine, Clutches, Transmission, Differential and Power Take-Off. I am looking for a Service Manual which covers things like Electrical, Brakes, and specifically the Power Steering valve on the steering wheel shaft.

If anyone knows which is the proper Service Manual for a MF 135 UK Model, or which other manuals I need to complete the set for the one which I have now, I would be very grateful if you would let me know.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard , I have a couple of photocopies of steering column parts and valve . I could email you copies. They would be PDF files I think. Also we got a washer and O ring kit from the local Massey dealer in Vernon B.C. The kit came from VAPOMATIC.# VPJ4006.
http://www.vapormatic.com/drilldown/default.asp?prmPageDetail=05&prmSource=0110&prmTitle=Part+details+for+VPJ4006&prmOem=&prmMachineId=0&prmItem=vpj400 Also "JJ in B.C." Sent me a copy of the wiring schematic. You could try and contact him if you do not get your Manual. Ray

Hello Richard,
My genuine Workshop Manual for the Upgraded 135 dates back to around 1975. The part number (then) is 1856027M1.
This covers all aspects of the UK tractor with the exception of course of the engine. I have a genuine manual for the successor 500 series tractors which give full details for the engine.
Have you looked on UK ebay? There are manuals frequently for sale there but I'm not sure if they are genuine or not.
Other manuals may be helpful but in my 35 years MF experience there's nothing like the real thing.
Cheers

Hi David,

Thanks so much for responding. I hadn't come across the part number 1856027M1 anywhere in my search for a manual. I did come across both1856 002 M1 and 1856 002 M2 on the UK ebay, but I am just not sure whether they cover the UK model. I don't want to purchase anything else untl I am sure that it is the right manual.

Cheers,
Richard

Hello Richard,
I have a Workshop Service Manual publication number 1856 002 M2 (as you mentioned)which I bought from MF (AGCO) in 2006, so I expect it remains their currently available manual for the 135 & 148 tractors.
Like David P's earlier manual, mine is for UK models and covers everything except the engine. It cost me 50 via our MF dealer, ordered from MF. It relates to the straight axle (i.e. later) version of the 135, with 12" main clutch friction disc and 10" PTO clutch friction disc and includes power steering, brakes and electrics.
Regards
Ian
