I just bought a 44 tractor and the left brake is stuck. How do you get it apart to work on it??

Look on the left side of the machine just below and ahead of the clutch pedal. A shaft comes from the right side where the brake pedals are. There is several cotter pins and a spring that comes off, then a big plate with 1/2" bolts (6 or so). When all is loose the plate with the brake mechanism will come off.

I took all of that loose and it appears to be froze in the housing. I don't have a manual to tell me how they are built so I did not know what was on the back side of that plate.

The shoes are probably stuck to the drum. Keep working at it to loosen them up.
I think they have manuals at this site, if not Jens Sales has them.
