I just bought a 1973 MF31. It needs LOTS of work, but the price was right, and it sure has lots of potential. Main problem I'm working on, for now, is that the lift arms only respond to the draft lever. Position control lever has no effect. Arms will move up and down, using draft lever, no matter where position control lever is. I've been around MF's before, so I know Draft must be up for Position to work. No so on my beast?? fluid level is good. Pulled Response cover plate. Little arms move when levers are moved. Nothing seems stuck. This tractor doesn't have pressure control. Adjustment screw is missing keeper, or jam nut. It was screwed all the way in. Tried adjusting it to many different locations, no luck. I have the MF shop manual, but it just makes me more perplexed. I've searched, read, and searched some more. Can anybody PLEASE point me in the right direction? Do I need to be pulling the lift cover? Thanks in advance.
