Shrink potion for MultiPower Adjustment

I was told that maybe I needed to adjust the linkage on my Multipower so I figured, "sounds easy enough to me." But, when I went to loosen the clamp, I soon found out that there is little to no room to work. I can get at what appears to be a hex head bolt but it is welded to the clamp itself. Not sure if this is welded from the factory or by a red faced farmer that tightened it for the last time. If this is factory welded, then that means I need to loosen the nut that is on the back side. So if that's the case I need to shrink the steering box to gain suitable access. Anyone have suggestions or potions? Prefer suggestions.

Well, we aren't quite to that yet. There is no welding of any sort carried out on the MP linkage. It consists of one bracket 898 720 M1 with a clamping bolt and nut at each end. First of all make sure that no weld has been applied to the rod which goes down into the clutch housing. If the clamp is not removable you might need to split the tractor to remove it. If you consider the time that you might take struggling to do it in place it would be worthwhile doing the job properly and removing the hood and steering box. If there is any weld on the bottom rod you have a far better chance of recovering it with the steering box away. Either remove the fuel tank or support the rear of it. It would be a good opportunity to clean it out. A nice little job but rewarding when completed successfully.
