I have a Massey 333 that the rear axle seal is leaking. I have taken the nut off the end of the axle. I put a porta power between the hub and the axle housing and I have used a dead blow hammer to try and get the hub off. I have had no success. I have an IT manual and believe it shows a keyed tapered axle. In a perfect situation shouldn't you be able to take the nut loose and slide the hub off the axle? Have you had one apart? Am I missing something? Any suggestions?

Standard tread or Row Crop??It takes a little diff.method on each.On the standard I haven't had too good a luck with heat and puller.Take(make)a flat plate(1 inch x4-5)a little longer then your pulling holes and put 3 holes in it or you can get bye with 2 ahd just tighten each very slowly and I have never failed yet to get one off. On the row crop the same thing with a couple plates on the back side of the hub,use good Pent.oil and no heat. You will have to move maybe 1/4 inch.Let me know if this doesn't work.Be careful.

It can take lots of heat and lots of pull. Two large propane torches ( Tiger Torches ) the kind that are connected to a bbq type propane tank are good. Heat from both sides. Use a high quality hub puller. The threaded holes in the casting are for the puller bolts.MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE NUT ON THE END OF THE AXLE BEFORE PULLING, JUST LEAVE A SMALL GAP BETWEEN THE CAST CENTER AND THE NUT.You do not want this thing in your lap when it comes off. Bonus! you can cook pancakes on that casting for two hours after you get it off. Good Luck!

sounds like you have a 333 standard tread. you will need heat on the hub yes it has a key and a little taper but you will still need heat a puller and a sludge hammer
