I can buy a 1972 MF 135 diesel or gas at the same price. Both are equal in condition and running fine. I am a hobby farmer with a good working knowledge of gas tractors and have never worked on diesel. Can someone help me make a decision.

The Perkins AD3-152 diesel is one of the most fuel efficient engines ever built. They last and last. They have more power than the gas options, either Perkins or Continental. The diesel should have a much better resale value.

The gas 135 is a good tractor. The diesel is one of the greatest ever.

All things being equal, it's a no brainer IMHO.

Have to agree. The diesel sips fuel and is an excellent starter in cold weather. No ignition problems and pretty bullit proof. The AD3-152 is the most popular engine ever used in tractors for good reason. Dave
