The original subject was "Starving MF50".

I had a similar problem, plenty of fuel, but would not run for crap...I found a mouse...thats right a mouse in the inlet of the MS carb by the choke. It appearantly crawled in the air intake and made it his home....Removed mouse (and family) runs great!

Good luck

I had a 50 that had a fuel delivery problem. I found it to be dirt in the fuel pick-up tubes on the sediment bowl base. If you unscrew the sediment bowl base out of the fuel tank, there are two pipes that extend up from it, a long one and a short one. Check them for obstruction. The long one is the feed for the two turns normal operation on the shut off knob, the short one for the turn all the way out fuel reserve setting. Regards Marti

I had the same problem, but found that the choke stop had broken and I was running on a closed choke....
