Plowing Snow

My tractor has a homemade plow the plow itself came
off a pickup cost me $10 at an auction. The lift
cylinder is off a jeep snowplow. That plow is on my
Power King. I made a new system to lift the plow on
the MF this year. I tapped into the tractor hydraulics under the left side of the seat and ran a
hose to the lift cylinder. There is 380 lbs of weight on the 11 hole drawbar. The drawbar is chained up wo the weights don't drag when I lower
the plow. I raise the lift lever, the plow comes up
all the way, then the drawbar lifts a couple of inches til it gets to the point it would stop at
if the plow wasn't on the front. Seems to be a lot less strain on things than if you chain the lift
arms down and I gain 380 lbs of ballast.
