Where are you located? Hate to see it go for scrap. Please read response below...

Located in SW Iowa, 30 minutes east of Omaha, 3-1/2 hours north of kansas City, or 1-1/2 hours west of Des Moines. I was just kidding about the scrap pipe. If I give up, I'll post it on here first to see if anybody wants it. Les

Why don't you just rebuild the old one? What is it off of? Also, there are a lot of other carb models that would likely work with the same orientation of throttle shaft configuration. Choke position isn't as critical, it can be moved from one side to the other or to a push or pull choke control style. A lot of times, getting another used carb results in you having two used carbs, neither of which is working to top efficiency. What problems are you having with your tractor that you feel a different carburetor will solve?

1957 F-40 was in the garage when the garage caught fire. The tractor may be ruined, but I don't know. Some parts like wiring, tires, carb, generator, starter, and radiator are not re-usable. I'm planning on finding just the nessessary parts needed to see if the tractor will still run. If not, then to the scrap pile it goes. If it will run, then I'll fix it. The marvel carb looks to be all cast iron. This may be a zenith crb as it looks like the bowl was aluminum, and is destroyed. Les

F-40? Sorry, you got me on that one, I'm not sure what it is (not that it really matters). I honestly think that maybe your scrap yard idea might be a good one unless you're bound and determined to get it back operating again. Good luck, sounds like a big project.

During the two line policy from 1955-1957 there were F-40's and MH50's. In 1958, they were homologated into the MF50. They were near identical with different paint schemes. If the bowl was aluminum, it wasn't an MS.

I think it will run. How does the front cover/governor look? This piece would be aluminum behind the front pulley. Don't listen to the naysayers, just do it.

As far as the carb goes, Nolts Equipment 1-717-776-6242 has them for $125 used and $265 new. The used are take-offs and will need to be looked in before returning to full service. Hope this helps, Aaron

Thanks Aaron, you're the first words of encouragement I've had. I'll give Nolts a call after I check that front cover. Les
