A book I have says: Steering column below instrument panel. The first four years the number begins with 6410, the other years 9A.

On mine its on a plate riveted to the console in the vicinity of the steering column. In later years the 9A prefix was dropped, probaby about 1970. The 9A prefix was used in 1968.
