A farmer friend bought a Ferguson tractor serial number TO 4536. We are trying to identify the model. We originally thought it was a TO 20 and bought a grill which turned out to be too narrow by 2 inches, 15" versus needed 17". Need help with model identification.

With that serial number it should be a TO-20. On the left of this page is a section titled Research & Info. Click on Serial Numbers and find Ferguson and follow through. That is a very early model TO-20 since the first one is serial number TO 00001 and the last one is TO 60000.
I don"t know why the grill won"t fit but just because somebody says a grill is for a TO-20 doesn"t mean it"s true.. You have to be wary of buying parts for these old machines. Sometime people sell them thinking they are the correct part(s) and the buyer finds out the hard way they are not. Caveat emptor.
