I am looking at purchasing a Massey Harris 30 tractor. It is a 1951, standard front end, it is complete and all original, runs well, and has fairly straight sheet metal. Roughly how much is this tractor worth? Thanks.

A 30 is a good puller and belt-turner. It usually starts well in any weather and it's easy to get on and off, which makes it useful for pick-up work such as dragging brush with a chain. Parts are readily available and cheap.

Be very leary of the PTO shaft, though. Where you need to climb onto the machine is right where the shaft is if an implement is attached, so don't even think about getting on or off when the shaft is turning.

I paid $1500 for one three years ago and haven't regretted it. It's a good worker.

Without seing it, I would estimate $750-$1,500 depending upon its condition.
