the hub in question is the splined hub and flywheel adapter that is located between the engine and trans.I think the main problem was improper alignment of engine and trans. The pumps supply 25 gpm and seem to last, and if there is a problem they are easy to remove. It would be a good idea to put on an extra set of belts and tie them out of the way because that big coupling with the 8 rubber bushings has to be removed.like I said before they are very basic tractors and are also relatively easy to repair by anyone mechanically inclined as opposed to newer ones with a lot of electronics.

the 1505 and 1805 are very basic tractors, easy to work on and many parts are still available.the 3208 may have been a weak point, depends on who you ask.the clutch and drive hub also gave some trouble.I restored a 1505 a couple of years ago,its in the tractor photos.good luck,David
