I think the MF35 has live hydraulics also. Not so the 8N. The MF 35 is just a plain better machine and it"s at least one generation newer than the the N Series by Ford.

M*f-35 has more gears, more horsepower, more weight to use that horsepower. Difference between a toy and a working tractor.

what are your thoughts on a MF 35X with3,300 hours on it. dealer says engine is not tired. asking $3,500. looks to be in very good condition.

I'd check it for dirty oil and for oil smoke. At 3500 hours it should have at least a couple more thousand without needing serious work. I think my MF-135 has something over 5000 hours. The rocker arm assembly did get worn out from pluged oil passages, but the rebuilt assembly is now available. I had to make my own. So listen for valve clatter, a hint of rocker bushings wearing and valves needing adjustment.

Lots of farm tractors go 7000 hours routinely before needing engine attention. And then a set of rod an main bearings sets them up for another 5000 hours of hard work.
