Have removed a single spool valve for centre link from side of 154 and plugged outlets now I can no longer get hydraulic arms to lift..... .have tried all combinations of an external pipe between manifold outlets to no avail. Please help, by email for photos if required. Thank you.

Hello Ian,
I'm assuming that you do not have spool valves operated by an auxillary pump. I assume that your spool valve was mounted directly on top of the front right hand corner of the hydraulic cover. If this is the case when you removed the valve you may have lifted the stack pipe up with it. It is quite easy to replace the cap or valve body and not have the tube engaged in the pump at the bottom. If this is the case oil will be pumped straight into the transmission. If you can remove the tube (Non Pressure Control) make sure it is straight. When refitting align the tube and you will feel it 'push' into place. Refit the cap.
Please let me know how you get on.

Fixed it [after 2 days].... this Italian piece of cr-- has what appears to be a brass bleed valve on top of manifold, well its a cover for a grub screw deep in the casting, remove the screw and it allows oil flow between chambers that cant be duplicated with external hoses..... simple eh..... thanks and great site it has helped a lot with my MF35.

Thanks for response Dave, no the 154,174,184 etc have an external pump geared to motor by flywheel and then two external pipes running up side of tractor [high pressure and return]. Hard to explain, but really has me baffled. Email me at [email protected] for photos. Thanks again.
