I have a N62 engine I had the crank reground. The block was replaced as the old one was cracked. The problem I'm having now is when I set the crankshaft in I have 0.15 thrust clearance . This should be .002 -.008. I have no shims installed so there's no place to go .What to do?

Should I have the material ground off the crank?

Should I shim behind the front bronze fixed thrust washer?

Or make a thicker bronze thrust washer for the inner side. Problem is what type of bronze do they use for these?

Your thoughts greatly appreciated

ED

There are shims that go on the front of the crankshaftbetween the crank and frony thrust washer. I made some from a beer can and they worked fine.

You may need new thrust bearing washers or you might not have one installed on both sides.
