I just rescued a Massey Harris tractor that was lost in the woods. It sat there so long that the ID plate rotted off.I found the serial # on top of the trans. It is 260 088 ,it has a narrow front end, spoke wheels all around, and what appears to be a 6 cyl.Continental flat head engine.I need help identifying the year and model of this tractor. If needed,I can e-mail a pic. Thanks,Pollack Pete

Pete,

I just had another thought (I get those ONCE in a while). Where you found the sn. on the top of the transmission housing, I believe just above those numbers doesn't it also give the model? It has been a while since I looked at my 101 and the 101 Super but I was thinking it also gave the model. I don't feel like going clear to the barn right now to check. It is cold out there; about 19 Degrees and that is F. Hope this is a help.

Roger

Pete,

According to my sn.list, that tractor should be a very early 101 rowcrop Senior. The Senior, which indeed has the Continental 226 ci eng, started with sn. 260,018. Before this a Chrysler flat head eng. was used. Best of luck and have a good turkey day.

Roger
