I have an engine, that I believe was the same that is used in the MF tractors. I got the engine out of a street sweeper and put it into my jeep. Well I need new rings and sleaves, and have been searching for a thermostate for almost a year. I called perkins, and they told me it was a german made engine, so I think it is one that was used in the MF tractors. I was wondering if someone could tell me what models came with the A4-236 Perkins diesel in? It has direct injection, and I have the serial number if that helps. Any information would be greatly appreciated, if you could send it to my e-mail address, [email protected]
Thanks Scott

Hi Scott,
I believe the 236 is one of Perkins staple ag engines. From about 1965 to present most Masseys between 55-80 PTO hp use the Perkins AD4-236.
If you have the build number I can get you pricing on the rings and such. Most of the parts are extremely reasonably priced and available.
The latest modified 236 is actually a 244 for EPA newest off-road standard, a lot quieter, more robust and sips fuel as do all Perkins.
