My 1963 MF50 gas engine has a horizontal muffler attached to the exh manifold with an veritical exit pipe that is 2 inches long. There is no exhaust pipe attached and I would like to find one. (The exhaust ends up blowing in my eyes).

I have been completely unsuccessful locally. Can you help with an online source?

Been around 2 gas MF 50"s, one had the vertical exhaust, one had the belly or horizontal exhaust. From your description it sounds like you have a manifold that has one blocked off(vertical-leaking) and the other(belly) used, is that correct? If so, any exhaust store should be able to make a patch to block off the short pipe. Do you have a hole in the hood for the vertical pipe?(probably not?). I would even use a tin can with clamp temporarily to keep the fumes out. Have you tried a Massey dealer?

The muffler is horizontal and has an exit hole that points up (about 10 degrees off of vertical). An exhaust pipe should connect there, but can't find one.

No massey dealer nearby.
Sounds like Midas is the place to go.

I can email a pciture if you will look at it and let me know more advice.

If you could post the pic here a LOT more people could see it and give advice:-)

Somewhere on this site is a "How to post a pic" , or use the search function above.

Midas-ize might be the fastest for now.
