The hydraulics for the three point on my Mustang are working intermittently. I tested the pressure to the valve. When working, its 975psi with the ram at its end of travel. I'm thinking its possibly a valve problem. Does anyone have any suggestions and has anyone taken one apart? Is there any rebuild kits available? Thanks for any help, Doug
PS- Just started taking the valve body apart today. So far doesn't look like anything is wrong.

Hi Doug
Did you get any response to your question re Mustang hydraulics? I also had/have problems with my Mustang hydraulic system. (See my 6/24/06 post) But in my case I was the cause. After an unrelated repair that required me to disconnect the hoses I put them back, reversing the input and output hoses. When I started her up she almost blew my head off as the pressure ruptured the hose and shot hydraulic fluid from under me right up toward my head, knocking my hat and glasses off and narrowly missing my eyes. I"m left with an oil stained barn ceiling to remind be to be very careful when working with such high pressure systems. As for parts; I located a repair kit somewhere on the net and rebuilt the valve unit-which didn"t fix the problem. The kit included seals and O rings as I recall. If you still need parts I"ll try to remember or find out where I got them.
By the way, the reason I say "I have/had the same problem" is that the old girl is, as we speak, sitting at my local tractor dealers shop for their mechanics to figure out and repair. My guess is the pump or safety release valve since that"s about all that"s left in the system. In any case I now consider myself an expert having made about all the mistake a guy can make with this so if you have any questions let me know. I also have some of the manuals for the Mustang. Best of luck,
Ace (Mustang Hydraulic Mechanic) John
