On an MF 180, lost PTO and all pumps. We removed the lift cover but did not find anything there. suspect the shaft broken in the transmission. What's the best place to split the tractor at this point, beind the transmission? Or at the clutch housing? Any input will be appreciated.

Fixed tractor. PTO gear at bottom of transmission was missing 3 teeth.

Is it a stwo stage clutch? Maybe the clutch hub spun out in the bell housing. Can you take the shift cover off and look inside the transmission to see if the shaft turns down below. You probably need to drain most of the oil to see. Can you crank the engine over with the fuel or ignition off? With no movement inside the tranny, you problem could be in the bell housing. With movement, it could be a connection between the two diveline housings. Good luck, let us know.
