I'm trying to adapt an old JD moldboard plow to my MF 135 3pt hitch. I will have to make the frame for the 3pt but not sure where to position the plow. Should the ground being turned be just inside the tire? This would cause the tire to track in the previous furrow and tip the tractor and plow. Should I angle the plow frame so it is plowing level when the tractor is tipped or doesn't it matter? Thanks, Dennis

You should look at a plow on a three point hitch to give yourself an idea of positioning your plow.

As far as leveling it out, that's what the crank is for on the right arm of the 3 pt. And the tractor's tire does go in the furrow when plowing. Atleast for a small plow like you've got.

That's the way your plow should be setup so the tractor's right wheel, if its a row crop tractor,
will be in the furrow after making your first pass across a field. I think you would want the plow level when its in the ground. If you remember the old trailing pull type plows had a larger wheel on the right side. Hal
