Does any one care to respond to this subject line.
I own both but have no experience with the mf. Mine is pretty tough to steer. I dont know if thet is normal.
Was thinking of going through the steering box but if it is normal should I jump straight to power steering. thanks Rip

First try grease. It works wonders on my old iron when steering gets tough.

Rip:

Your 35 should steer nearly as easy as your 8N if it has no loader and similar tires.

I have a 51 8N, a55 860 and a 61 FE-35 all with non power steering. All steer similarly, although the 8N is a bit easier as it is lighter.

Hi, I had an 860 and an 8N, and now have a MF1135. They are about the same effort to steer, that is, not too difficult at all. If your MF is tough to steer, I would check it out first without going to power steering as the cure. Power steering units cost around $1,000 for the MF.

Thank you that is what I was wanting to hear. I went through box on the 8n when I dismantled it before painting and it is sweet to drive. If the MF even comes close to that I will be tickled.
