Hi,
My MF35 was stuck in reverse and I fixed that problem by shifting it back with a screw driver.

However, now the gear stick bracket appears loose and swivels the gear stick around. Is tightening the bracket somehow the fix or is it something else causing the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers
Nick

The pin that holds the gearstick is worn or broken, thats what makes them jam in a gear. You need to replace the pin and check the slot at the bottom of the gearstick for wear.

Thanks. Could you please advise me where the 'pin' is located and what the 'slot' at the bottom of the gearstick is - sorry if this may sound simple but its my first tractor. Is this something I can easily fix myself with parts?

Thanks in advance
Nick

If you look at the gearbox top cover where the gearstick goes in you will se a pin about 1/8" or 3/16" in diameter going through. To check it fully and do a proper job you need to take that top cover off as the gearstick comes out from underneath. The parts are available from 'non geniune' suppliers.

Thanks. I should be more clear. The gear stick itself stay in the bracket that holds the "ball" of the gear stick. Its the actual bracket itself that is spinning. Do I just tighten this bracket somehow or is it something else?

Really appreciate your help.
thanks
Nick
