Pacer won't start properly

I have to bump start my Pacer to get it to go. I've had it 18 years and never had a problem but it sat for the last two years. I just got it going again, repainted it and it runs great once you get it started. The gas is fresh. The battery is new and the starter cranks very well. I took out each plug and they are all sparking fine and in good shape. I used emery paper on the rotor and wiped out the inside of the distributor. The points spark good and the wires are all connected solid and to the right plugs. Gas leaks a bit from the bowl (the float does have a habit of sticking - would this stop it from starting?) and there are no obstructions from the breather. As I say it starts real easy when I roll it down the hill but they calling for snow tomorrow and it sure won't roll with chains on it. Can you offer any advice? Can you tell me what to gap the plugs at? I think the mistake I may have made was fooling with the plugs, etc. after I painted it but when I retrace my steps I can't see something I messed up.

What came to my mind wont cost you any money, Just a little time. Look carefully at all of the electrical connectors, ie... where wires connect to ign sw, where wires connect to coil, etc. I am wondering it there is some corosion there causing high enough resistance to make spark weak while starter motor is running but strong enough when starting while rolling down hill when starter motor is not having to run. ..... ..... ..... ..Jim.
