Could some one tell me if my 1951 Massey Harris Pony has a pressure or a non pressurize Cooling System?I just installed a new radiator on the Pony and am not sure what type of a cap to use. I just finished a restoration on it and i am not sure what typ cap is correct. Please email me if you know that information. Thanks [email protected]

An old catalog here says the caps for the Pony, MH 22, 33, 33, and 55 also the IH H, M, Super M, MTA, 300, and 400 are the same seller catalog number.

Stant on line parts locator admits the MH Pony but says no cap to fit. But it shows the 10281 cap that has a rating of 4 psi fits the IH H and 300.

With 4 psi you can run a 180 degree thermostat.

Thanks for your reply. Could you you tell me where the thermostat is placed ? Does it go like most motors in the goose neck on the top of the motor? Also where can i get one. I am new to working on old tractors. I do tool & die work and have made some of the parts i could not find but these great old machines are somthing new so i have alot to learn. The Pony i have is 56 years old and still runs great. Amazing isn't it. THANKS AGAIN Dave

Dave , The cooling system in the Pony is a thermo-siphon system like the early tractors fron the teens. There is no waterpump and no thermostat. (Note) the lower part of the radiator likes to plug up with sediment . so a good flushing of the system is important if it has been neglected.I would advise you get a cheap reprint of the owner/ serice manual It has a wealth of information to maintain this tractor
