A systematic approach is needed. The first thing is to try and pin down when the problem happens. For example is it when the tractor's cold or hot? Rainy days? Sunny days? Only when the radio's on? Shortly after you turn the headlights on? When driving over bumps? Turning left? Etc etc.

The idea is that you try to eliminate possible causes, and circuit branches, so you gradually zero in on where the fault must be, in true Sherlock Holmes fashion.

The worst kind of fault is an intermittent, one that happens at random, because it usually goes away as soon as you start looking for it! However, it always has a definite physical cause and that's what you need to look for. For example, damaged or missing insulation that allows a wire to rub against the chassis and cause a short. But first you need to identify whereabouts in the electrical system it must be.

Hi

I made a test lamp with a blown fuse and little sealed beam. Just solder a wire each end of a blown fuse...solder the other ends of wires at the sealed beam terminals. Put the modified fuse in place...the sealed beam will glow...disconnect each accessory one at a time...when the light goes off you found the short circuit..repair it...left the tester in place reconnect if no light then put a good fuse in place and all shd be ok.

You say that the lights & radio & every goes out. On a 1105 there are 2 circuits. 1 for the lights & one for the rest of the electrical system. Ther are 2 electrical connections by the left battery. When you open the battery door it is right by the cab mounting bracket. One is for all the cab lights & one is for the cab acc. Unplug both of those & see if you still blow fuses. If you do the problem is not in the cab wiring. You really need to narrow the problem down as to whether the problem is in the light circuit or the main circuit. Keep us posted.

This happened with my 1135.

It was the light green wire that went from the headlights to the cab.

Not saying it's the same problem you're having, but every time I turned the lights on all power was out.

I replaced that wire with a nice red one..lol and haven't had any trouble since. The wire is wrapped up in tape just above the motor with a few other wires

Put a 12 volt test light between the negative cable(removed from th battery) and the post from which you removed the cable and see if it lights up.If the light comes on, you have a short circuit. To locate the problem circuit, leave the light in place and start removing the fuses one at a time. When the light goes out, you have found the problem circuit.

Are you talking fuses for the lights or panel fuses? What switches, if any, are on when they blow. It sounds like an obvious direct short, but you need to give a little more info. Cab or no cab?

I'd start at the dash just past the fuse location. If everything goes, its going to take tracking the wire from the fused link down all circuits. I would even go as far as unhooking the radio wires and limit the possibilities by eliminating items within the circuit.
