I bought a Massey 22 std. The engine is tired. It leaks oil and when it is run oil comes out the vent pipe. How do you tell when it is time for an overhaul?
It doesn"t smoke in just running it. Where do you get overhaul kits?
Did this engine come with sleeves?
Thanks
Mike

Ok Thank you Chuck.
How do you tell if a block needs bored or just cylinders honed?
Mike

All 22's were gas, no diesel. Sounds like it is time for an overhaul. Kits are easy to find as Massey used Continental engines. Done 2 of them and had no problem finding parts. Losts of forklifts, welder engines were made by Continenetal. Montes in Chicago is aslo agood source, phone number 312-225-2660

Do you have a Massey 22? Do you know if the Continental engine has sleeves or it will need to be bored out?
Thanks
Mike

I got a massey 203 that started blowin oil, it needed rings and sleeves so I just rebuilt the whole thing while I had it apart. Not familiar with mf22 tho. Is it gas or diesel out of curiousity?

It is gas, a Continental F140 engine I think.
