Where can a guy find all the tune up specs for a 1973 175 gas MF? And what in the heck are them extensions on the spark plugs?

Not sure which motor you have, but here's what my I&T manual gives for specs
C=Continental engine P=Perkins engine
Static timing C 6 btdc P 10 btdc
High Idle timing c 26 btdc p 32 btdc
point gap .022 (both engines)
plug gap .025 (both)
low idle c 475 p 750
high idle c 2225 p 2250
compression 145-160 psi (both)
valve tappet gap (hot) intake c .016 p .012 exhaust c .018 p .012

also gives valve angles if needed, let me know. I'm not on here a lot, but email works

hope this helps,

Steve

Get a manual as soon as you can (genuine MF). They are available on ebay and from the dealer. I've never worked on a gas 175, but I have come across extensions on sparkplugs that were supposed to keep them from fouling. If this is the case, you may need more than a tune-up.

I did a quick comp. test and all cylinders tested out at around 150 and it doesnt smoke that I know of,so I figured the motor is not to bad,but that kind of worries me if them are there to keep plugs from fouling. I have absolutely zero past history of the tractor.
