I need to know the pricipal of this pump. I've had it apart and don't know which parts are supposed to be moving and which direction they go. I have ordered a service manual but need some information now in order to stop the pump from continually running. At this point any information would be helpful.

There are a few thing that could cause that problem the pump control valve has a return spring that pulls the control valve forward to open the control valve into the raise position the vertical lever when the position or draft levers are in the lowering position they moves the vertical lever forward moving the pump control lever forward which moves the control valve to the rear for lowering position. Thing that can cause the that pump problem is 1. The control valve stuck.
2. The roller in the pump control lever missing 3. The vertical lever in front of the pump control lever instead on behind it. 4. The position and draft levers are not moving the 5. I am sure I have missed something that could cause that but cannot think of anything at this time I do have some pictures that will show you these things I
can email you

It's supposed to run continuously unless the clutch is pushed all the way down. The way it works is it varies how much oil goes into it. There is more detailed info about it on the web. Look under Ferguson system. A bunch of people here could explain it as well. Dave
