Hey Folks,

There"s a wiring harness on ebay for a 175 that I"ve been looking for. It doesn"t state whether it"s for a diesel or not. Says it"s replacement part #54936921. I"ll be away from my parts manual for a couple of days, can anyone confirm that this is the correct part # for a 175 diesel (mine has an alternator). All help is always appreciated.

John

Good Morning,
You might be interested in checking out www.wiringharness.com I recently bought a complete ignition and lighting harness for my MF50 restoration project and purchased my harness from them. The harness was very well made. Looked like the original wires and fit perfect. Jim there called to confirm specifics of my tractor and it was made specifically for my year and model.

I know Oliver & Massey ain't the same, but when I got a new harness for my 1600 a while back it uses the same one for gas or diesel. The wire that goes to the ignition on the gas goes to the preheat on the diesel. Everything else is the same.

Even if it were for a gas, I'd think it may have just an extra wire for the ignition if the diesel version doesn't use it. Have you tried asking the seller?
