Friend has a MF 135; year model 64-66, the tractor has a 4 cylinder gas continental engine.

Would that engine be a Z134 or Z145?

Thanks,

Z134 or the Z145 in the 135; Z145 in the 150; G176 in the 165; G206 in the 175 and the 180. I have a 135 with a Z145 and a 175 with a G206 both are good engines and tractors. Perkins diesel or gas engines would have slightly more hp. Perkins gas didn't get used until late 60's/early 70's. The Continental engines are good engines from my experience.

Depends. The Special had the Z134 and the Deluxe had the Z145.

The Special has few gauges, only water temperature and oil pressure while the Deluxe has many gauges including a tachometer.

My friends tractor MF 135 (gas) has all guages and multipower, so I am quessing its not a special model.

His tractor needs a tuneup and carb work, so I needed to know the engine number.

However, carb and dist look much like the ones on my TO-35 with Z-134 engine.

I think it is still the Z134 engine. The Z145 may have been in the MF-150 and the Z167 in the MF-165.

Though I do not know for certain.
