I have a front mounted snowplow on my MF 35. Last winters lift method left a lot to be desired. This
year I want to try tying down the lift arms and
tapping into the internal pump. I understand there
is a place on the top of the trans. housing but I'm
not sure where. There is a single action hydraulic
cylinder on the front to lift the snowplow. A picture of the place to connect would be good.

I have a MF 35 that I put a "diverter valve" on the top of the transmission. It has a lever with 3 positions. Off, which allows the 3pth to operate in the normal manner. One of the other positions, runs my external-auxiliary hydraulics, but with the lift arms in the lowered position. I am not sure if the third position will run another set of external hoses as I have only used the one set, but it does have another threaded opening. The only draw back is that you cannot use the 3 pth while in the external position. Also the 3 pth lever must be in the raised position to allow the diverter valve to operate the ext-aux hoses. By the way, we added this valve so we could run a haybine with a lift cylinder, and this was the only option that our local dealer said was possible. LaVern

Hi Dave,
If you have a MF35 you should have the plate on the front of the hydraulic cover held down by two bolts. The correct way to do this is to fit an isolating valve to give you external hydraulics. You will also need a single acting valve. These are available as a combined unit. Selecting 'external' will cut out the need to hold the 3-pt down and will allow you to 'hold' an implement on the 3-pt as extra weight providing that your system is in reasonable good condition to hold the oil. If you use seperate valves the return line which MUST be of larger bore than the supply can be fitted to the oil filler next to the gear lever with a suitable adaptor.
Please come back if you need any more help.

A buddy gave me a single lever controler, I mounted it to the top of transmission.
But I was never able to get it to work on my TO-35. I used every combination I could think of, ask questions of those who said they knew about the hyd system on these old tractors. Guess if Ferguson wanted external hyd on these tractors they would have put one on each tractor.

Just my experience and 2 cents.
