Hello,I just finished replacing my clutch on my MF 180,not as big of a job as I thought. But now I have a leak and have to split it again. This is where I need some advice.Everything went well and I was in the process of bleeding the injectors when I noticed hydraulic fluid dripping from the access hole. Well I got it started and took off for a quick spin around the property, clutch worked great but the dripping got much worse, back in the shop it went. While it was apart I replaced all four steel rings on the multipower input shaft. I did not replace the oil seal on the end,but the steel rings hold back the pressure right?? I could not see any grooves so I put it all back together with a new gasket.I suppose I may have not tightened the steel hydraulic lines in the bellhousing but I think I did.O.K. besides my bad luck what do you guys think.steel rings?,oil seal,?loose lines,? Anyone in north Texas want to help with the spilt? I will be splitting it this Saturday morning to find the problem, wish me luck. Thanks,Jim

What did you use to put the seals in with? Sometimes Seals get damaged if you beat them in wrong or could be just a loose line. I wouldnt think the rings would be the problem. But I would inspect it several times to avoid splitting again! Make sure the seals are seated good and maybe clean the threads on the lines to make sure they seal good. Remeber its better to take your time to make it perfect than to hurry and over look something and cost more time. Good Luck Jim

OOOOPs! I didnt notice you said you didnt replace the seal. I would replace it while it is apart so you wont loose sleep over it. Now that that Im thinkin clear it could be a line. It seems I always have problems with lines around here!lol One minute you think you got them tight and they go to leaking again. You have to be gentle them.

Thanks K.W.
I will replace the seal this time. I don"t think the steel lines would be leaking that much. I had a large amount of fluid pouring out of inspection hole. The new clutch assembly is covered with fluid.I pulled the starter last night to see if I could see anytrhing, all I could see was the top corner of the transmission case and a portion of one of the steel lines. It was all clean and dry in that spot!
