I have been givin my grandpas MH 44-6. Along with it came a spare engine. The engine that is in the tractor has the distributer and coil on top of the head, and it has a six blade fan. It also has three bolt holes for attaching the starter. The spare one has the distributer and coil on the side, and it has a four blade fan. It also has only two bolt holes, instead of three, to bolt on the starter. Which one is the Continental motor, and which one is the Chrysler? Which one has more horsepower? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The engine with the distributor on the top is the continental. That is the proper engine for the tractor. The chrysler engine has a belt diven governor and the distributor is on the left side of the engine.
