My MF65 LP decided to just up and die the other day after pulling a hay rake for about a half hour or so....I was pulling it pretty hard and bam, she died and would not start....I checked the usual ignition...it had fire and to confirm, squirted gas into the intake and off she went until the gas ran out.....then I cracked the lp line right at the carb....no gas. I then started working from the lp tank towards the carb, breaking connections and checking for gas along the way. Gas was coming out of the tank and out of the water heated vaporizer....then I found the culprit...the secondary regulator would not blow any propane....I took it off and took it apart(those disk shaped parts unscrew) and found a very fragile "leaf spring" had broken.....it was a Zenith regulator, but I happened to have a good J&S regulator....they were identical....I put it in and she fired right up.....

It should not be a problem for a Zenith dealer to get parts needed for your Zenith regulator vaporizer. zenithfuelsystems.com You won't find anything for that J&S because Impco bought them out and obsoleted all parts for those.

I am glad you found a solution. I wanted to help, but I work on gassers and some diesels. My 65 has a carb and our machines are similar, but the problem you were having was in a system I am not familiar with. I do have LP pistons in my 65 for that little bit of extra oomph that 2 full compression points provide. Hopefully I will not run it enough in its retirement to wear anything out. Heck I am hesitant to burn the paint off the manifold.

Thanks for the reply...

Yeah, LP is becoming quite the curiosity anymore...not many know much about it...it used to be very popular. I was just lucky to have an extra regulator....bought a box of lp parts at an auction for a $1.....I KNEW I would use something out of the box, someday....

Where are you getting your propane from? and what does it cost an hour to run. Has propane gone up as badly as gas and diesel?
