i have found a 1981 2775 with 6000 hrs duals for 9800 or something like that it has the 24 speed tranny i have heard about problems with it. how bad are they what happens to it when it breaks how costly is it to repair? was their an update or someting that could be done and at 6k would these problems have already manifested themselves and been remedied or will it fall to crap at about 6100 hours. i need a tractor to plant and drill with but the extra horsepower would help my versatile out with the field work. i would pull a 5X5 undercutter and a 24ft disk with the machine. i have heard about an 8 speed conversion how hard is that?
thank you for your help if you think i need to know something that i didn't ask please tell me well thanks again Levi

Thats a huge amount of hours for the price. We found a 2745 with 2400 hours 100% original for 7,000. The 45 is one model down from the 75 with the 540 V-8 instead of the 640 V-8. Good tractor, but its a bit on the high side.

Levi, if you do a search on this page(towards the top, left side) for "2805", "2775", "2000 series", or such you"ll find a lot of info and probably many answers to your questions. I had a 24 speed 2805 for about 7 years, never had a trany problem but was worried, finally sold it. I was told that when Reverse gets to slipping, the trany is heading south. To me, that price is "way" too much for a 24 speed with that many hours. However, some have had good service with them.
