First thing I gotta do is change out the axel seals and brake shoes on my MF-50. I picked up parts today, but there are inner and outer seals. Any tips? Do I remove the entire axel housing and the axles, too?

as I remember you pull the axle and take the inner seal off with a cold cut chisle and a drill. You heat the new one and put it on hot. You may have to use a 2 inch pipe as a driver but it's not hard to do.

You mean the seal mounts onto the axle, not into the differential housing? That's the "inboard" one right? And does this mean I don't need to drop the axle housing? What's it take to pull the axle -- is it locked in at the differential?

I've done it and there is no lock. You don't take off the housing. Do you have the manual?

No, no manual yet. I just purchased one through ebay yesterday -- should be here in a few days. My local MF dealer supplied me with a copy of a page from a parts catalog -- exploded view of the axle assemblies, but it's a little incomplete and it printed out kinda light, so it's hard to see what's what. Looks fairly simple, but just wanted to see if there's any real tricks to this that'll make this an easier task -- keep me from tearing into more than I need to. Thanks, you've been a great help.
